Nine Inch Nails' New Album Improperly Copyrighted?

Just what does Trent Reznor have up his sleeve this time? Yes, he single handedly turned the music industry upside down with his newly released 100% free full-length album (a big finger in the eye at all the industry's corporate gluttons - and bands like Metallica). But, something more might be going on here.

The album became available to the world yesterday in various formats on the official nin.com website. The download includes ten tracks that I must say, are exactly what you want from a solid Nine Inch Nails release. Each track has its very own .pdf picture attached to it, and the download also includes front and back shots of the album packaging, as well as a thank-you page including all important contributors to the album. This is the page where the copyright can be found and this is the page I find most interesting.

If you look at the copyright tag, it does not read "© nin 2008" as it should. Instead it reads "© niin 2008". This is quite a peculiar typo to have, especially with Reznor known as a perfectionist in every aspect of his art. From the packaging to stage setup and of course the music itself, Trent Reznor has always come across as a meticulous mastermind of his own degree. To see such an error makes me wonder one of two things: Is this some sort of stunt? Some sort of crazy plan for the new album to be rooted in? Or, is it just a simple typo due to the hectic schedule Reznor has been running on nowadays? Either way, he is a genius and if the cost of owning such great art is a simple typo, I'm laughing all the way to the bank.
